Guruatma Khalsa, M.ed.
Guruatma, ERYT500, KRI certified Leader Trainer, is an international teacher who has been teaching Yoga since 1975. He began his teaching career in the 70′s instructing Hatha Yoga and began to focus on teaching primarily Kundalini in the early 80′s. To date he has taught more than 10,000 classes. He has been a stress management consultant at Tufts University Graduate School where he has been teaching yoga and meditation classes since 1992. Guruatma has lead workshops in Costa Rica, Hawaii and throughout the United States. He is a Reiki Master/Teacher, a Wellness Coach, Psychotherapist and Co-Director of Franklin Yoga and Wellness Center. Pamela McIntyre
Pamela McIntyre (Amrit Nam Kaur) is the creator of Divine Moves, a joyful movement form merging creativity and spirituality. She has training in the Nia Technique, JourneyDance, Kundalini Yoga, Reiki, Acting and Voice. As a former professor of Theater at Wheaton College, Pamela trained actors, directed productions, advised students, and served as Chair for many years. She has acted in many theatre productions and films and recorded a music CD. Her desire for everyone to discover their creative potential has manifested in a workbook and workshop entitled “What Matters to You?” as well as LifePath Astrology personal readings. Currently, her own creative soul is expressed through devotional dancing and singing. Pamela has a PhD in Theatre/Communications.

Tony Berg
Tony began his study of martial arts at the age of 10, when he had his first lesson in tai ji quan.Over the next 15 years he studied several “external” or “hard” style martial arts and yoga.In 1984 he returned to the internal art of tai ji quan at Umass Amherst where he was studying for a Bachelor of Arts. It was here that he learned the first section of the Yang style long form. He graduated from Umass with a degree in Italian, though he also studied various other languages including Mandarin Chinese. In 1988 Tony traveled to China where he taught English, first in Taiwan, then in Beijing at the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. It was while there that he developed an interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Upon returning to the United States, he worked for several years in the mental health field, after which he took a sabbatical in which he continued his language studies and focused on refining his body movement skills: running, swimming, biking, hiking, in-line skating, dance, martial arts and yoga. In May of 1998 Tony graduated from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester. His training included Swedish massage, sports massage and shiatsu, which is based on the theories of TCM. He has been working as a licensed massage therapist since then.
Patricia Spencer
Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher
Pat was introduced to Svaroopa® Yoga in 2008 and has been studying with Maria Sichel of Cumberland, RI ever since. Though Pat practiced Hatha Yoga for many years, she was drawn to the simplicity and depth of Svaroopa® Yoga and decided, after a 5 day intensive Foundational training, to pursue teaching. Pat completed Level One training at Master Yoga Foundation in Exton, PA in July of this year, under the tutelage of Vidyadavi Stillman, Karobi Sachs, Kris Montigny, and Polly DiBella and is certified to teach introductory classes. Her training will continue in January of 2012 after which she will be a RYT with Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level and be certified to teach at the basic/continuing level. Pat is so grateful to have this opportunity to Bring Svaroopa® Yoga to Franklin Yoga and Wellness Center. She lives with her musician husband, William, and their two dogs in Bellingham, MA. Steve Sawyer
Steve Sawyer Has been practicing yoga for two years. In 2010 he traveled to Nepal where he visited many Buddhist and Hindu temples. He spent the month of October living in an ashram in Kathmandu where he completed a yoga teacher training program. Upon his return he began to look for another teacher training program that would certify him with the Yoga Alliance. He found his way to the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Nassau where he completed his second yoga teacher training in Hatha yoga. There he also received the spiritual name of Ishwara from Swami Swaroopananda. Steve has been introducing and teaching yoga to beginners since November and sees the importance of yoga as a tool to improve the mind, body, spirit, and, through each individual, the world. His teaching style includes joint opening, breathing exercises, basic asanas with some variations and relaxation. Steve also loves music and dance and has learned beginner level East Coast Swing and various other moves from the schools of liquid and pop ’n’ lock.
Sharon (Sha) LeBoeuf-Dubois
Sha’s yoga journey began over 15 years ago, as a way to bring balance and a sense of stillness to her very active life. As an avid runner and certified Spin instructor, health and fitness has always been important to Sha. This very focused, always-moving lifestyle was the very reason why she found yoga. Or did it find her?
Sha is a registered yoga teacher who brings over 10 years of yoga teaching and study to Franklin Yoga + Wellness. Her teaching style is a fusion of the physical challenge of Vinyasa Flow, the refined body alignment of Iyengar Yoga, and meditative breath techniques. Sha guides her students through vigorous flows and into deep alignment by encouraging them to explore both the strength and lightness of each asana, each breath.
When she’s not teaching or studying yoga, Sha surrounds herself with all things creative. She’s an artist, designer, chocolate FREAK and the Managing Partner/Creative Director of Elan, a strategic marketing and design firm that provides interactive, custom designed marketing solutions to museums, cultural groups and educational institutions. Her passion is to help her clients connect with, inspire, and engage their audiences in more meaningful ways.
Betsy Barry
Betsy is a Registered Yoga Teacher who completed her certification in Vinyasa Flow at Frog Lotus Yoga in North Adams, MA, Forest Yoga Training and various other modalities. She is passionate about sharing her joy of Yoga with others. She is a wife, mother of 3, avid reader, earnest yoga student and enthusiastic cook. “Yoga provides a lifelong opportunity to engage in two things I love: learning and teaching. I see Yoga as a means to help us remember what we already know about ourselves: that we are essentially joyful and peaceful beings.”

She is a certified Nia Blue Belt instructor, certified Brain Gym/Educational Kinesiology training, long time yoga practitioner, a mom homeschooling two teens, pursuing a powerful nutrition/wellness mission, and thrilled to bring Nia to you.
Kaye Khalsa (Kay Michell)
Co-Director, Founder of Franklin Yoga and Wellness Center, Rainforest Preserve in Costa Rica, and EP &HR Fund, a 501C3 non-profit agency for earth preservation and human relief. After leaving the banking industry, and having two beautiful boys, Kaye began training and teaching in the wellness industry. Currently, her primary focus is writing, and managing the yoga center. Kaye is registered with Yoga Alliance as a RYT500 teacher. Her yoga certification was in Kundalini Yoga & Meditation and she has participated in a number of yoga and meditation trainings and workshops. She received her Cranio-Sacral Training through Upledger Institute. Kaye has taught and lead workshops in yoga and meditation locally and in Costa Rica and Hawaii.
She’s published in Chicken Soup for the Soul book, Power Moms, released in March 2009 and re-released in 2012 in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Stay at Home Moms. She is seeking representation for her first novel Passing the Sword, and hard at work on three new projects. To read a excerpt click here.
